The Story

I started Haven + May in 2020, which we all know was a time of immense uncertainty and what felt like endless quarantined nights. Due to COVID-19, I was recently out of work and was in need of a distraction. I was a hands-on, crafty girl stuck at home with nothing to do. With just a DIY candle kit and a dream, Haven + May (*Haven + May Candle Co., at the time) was born! After many months of testing, burning, designing, and photographing, I was able to craft a product that not only smells great but looks even better. The nostalgic scent collection paired with a sleek, minimalist design hope to inspire thoughts of joy, self-love, and all-around good vibes. I started this business during a time when I was at my lowest and the constant doubt was trickling in. These thoughts fueled my fire and continued to drive this business forward. With this in mind, I strived to curate a collection with the mission to bring a small glimmer of light into your life, literally and figuratively.

We all deserve dedicated time for ourselves to escape to a place of pure happiness and I believe that candles can help create that for us and our surroundings. My goal is to bring that peace of mind into your home with my products. At Haven + May the product and scent collection is carefully curated with you and the environment in mind. All of our candles are made with 100% U.S. grown soy wax, eco-friendly cotton wicks, and phthalate-free, non-toxic fragrances. We also kindly ask that our candle vessels and packaging are reused, recycled, or repurposed in some way. 

 

Fast forward to now! I quit my 9-5 in the sports apparel industry in Seattle, WA and moved to Lynden, WA earlier this year ('24) to be closer to family and for an overall lifestyle change. Having a bachelor's degree in fashion and working in the industry since graduating, my dream was always to have my own storefront, and Lynden was the perfect place! Located in Whatcom County just 10 min outside of downtown Lynden, you will find an abundant collection of home decor, gifts, women's apparel, and of course candles made by ME. Live local?
